College Club News Events St. Patricks Day Boogie and the Virtual Competition
Dublin Boogie Sunset

Thanks to support and encouragement from Chris Spence and RoamingDZ.com, we will be hosting our first ever Virtual Competition beginning the weekend of the Dublin Boogie. This St. Patrick’s Day celebration for skydivers will take place in Dublin, GA at “Bud” Barron Field from March 14th until March 18th. This is not something that you want to miss, and that is suggested by the number of college students already signed up to attend.

The new Virtual Competition started as an idea from Chris Spence, because he was kind enough to host a barbeque get together for us at the Collegiate Competition when we were all discussing how tough it was to find a way to compete being hundreds or thousands of miles away from each other. Since we’re in college and we’re supposed to be pretty computer savvy, the idea was born. It’s only fitting that the first competition of this sort is being kicked off at the Dublin Boogie.

The Forum for this site has proven to be an outstanding resource for information between college clubs, but more importantly an avenue for college skydivers all over the nation to keep in touch. So far the confirmations for attendance at this boogie are from Kansas State, Virginia Tech, University of Florida, Clemson, and Georgia Tech, and the list is growing. In order to accommodate the 40+ college skydivers, we will be renting a large packing/party tent. If you are in college and showing up at Dublin, don’t hesitate to stop by and introduce yourself. This is not just an organization for college clubs, but an organization for all college skydivers.

There is already a sign-up sheet going on the Forum for a 4-way scramble, and if you are looking for a teammate for 2-way or Freefly, post that as well. There are a ton of college students out there that aren’t competing simply because they don’t have a teammate at their school. Check our Forum and then find our tent and you’ll find a teammate. That’s what all this is for, getting to know each other better and learning how to be better skydivers.

The Dublin Boogie is one of the largest boogies in the southeast and is an experience that should be had by all to say the least. We hope to see you there, and you will definitely see us there.
