General News Announcements Expanding Again!

You may have noticed a change in the look and feel of CollegeSkydiving.com since the last time you visited. This change was brought on largely from wanting to add functionality to the website for clubs, partly because of a necessity for code updates, and slightly because...well...this new design just looks waaaaaay cooler.

There is a "break-in" period that we'll have to go through which is really due to finishing up some code for the new social applications on the site. In all honesty, the previous social applications on the site were used, but only slightly...after all, who can compete with Facebook. Well, we have started working with two larger companies who are writing code that is streamlining and polishing code structures that are very progressive in the social web application sector. No, we can't compete with Facebook (they're valued in the Billions, we are very strictly volunteer...that means $0), but we can offer college skydiving clubs better tools geared towards solutions they need. This also comes without all the clutter of 200 million users posting that they think "skydiving is cool" never intending to try out the sport.

Don't worry, you're previously entered content will be saved and available to you, we're just looking to upgrade the code to offer you more reliable and usable tools. College Skydiving has always intended to be a long-term entity in the skydiving community which includes keeping tools and code up-to-date. This, from time-to-time, means changes in layout, functionality, and code. Technology moves pretty damn fast, no reason for it to out-pace skydivers though!

This is a quick intro to the fact that things are changing over to newer looks and features. There will be more posted about the actual changes taking place.

If you haven't noticed that each club has their own section of the site and can post website articles, you need to do some more clicking around. In an effort to take out the pain in the butt task of building and updating a website, every club is provided with their own customized section of "CollegeSkydiving.com". This also includes their own forum section, and even private forum groups if requested.

Stay tuned for more info posted very very soon!
